The Gettel family of dealerships is dedicated to improving and staying involved in our community however we can. Throughout the years, we’ve donated countless hours and dollars in pursuit of making our community a better place to live. We are also excited to announce the newest member of the Gettel Automotive family, Stadium Toyota in Tampa. We look forward to being a proud and valued member of the Tampa Bay community! Here you’ll find some details about several of the events and charities we have participated in, past and present.
Community Involvement
Below are just some highlights of our community involvement! We are always looking for ways to sponsor events or improve our communities, so feel free to contact us if you have a cause we should know about!
Toys for Tots
We collected $17,500 and matched that collection for $35,000 raised. These funds were used to purchase 550 bicycles, which were donated to Toys for Tots in Manatee, Sarasota, Marion, Alachua and Charlotte County. We also collected three pickup loads of toys!
Backpack Drive
Volunteers helped hand out flyers and collected supplies. We ended up with an entire truckload of school supplies, which were donated to our Title 1 schools in Manatee and Sarasota County. In addition, we set up a GoFundMe account and raised $2,500, which we matched for $5,000 total.
Food Drives
All year long, we collect non-perishable foods to benefit Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee and Bread of the Mighty Pantry. By partnering with these organizations, we’re investing in the wellness of our community. We love these charities because no one in our community should be food insecure.
The Academy at Glengary
We’re proud to be a corporate sponsor of a great organization: The Academy at Glengary in Sarasota. We want to drive their mission of education by skill development forward by helping them pursue their dreams and goals in any way we can. We care about helping this organization because they give back to the community in so many ways.
State Rd. 64 Adoption
We believe maintaining the cleanliness of our roads is important! Twice a year, around 40 volunteers help to clean up one of our roadways.
Giving Hunger the Blues
Several of our dealerships sponsored this event, and all proceeds went to the Mayor Feeds the Hunger fund.
Sarasota Grand Prix
We’ve sponsored the Fourth of July boat races in the past, and the Gettel boat came in first!
Parades
If there’s a parade in town, you can bet we’ll be participating. We love showcasing some of our favorite vehicles to the community!
Career Day
Several of our employees, including service managers, parts employees, Human Resources and Public Relations personnel as well as technicians, volunteered to go into our schools for Career Day to explain our jobs.
Boo Run
Gettel proudly sponsors the Boo Run, benefitting Another Day for Gray Foundation, which consistently has over hundreds of runners.
Van Wezel Summer Fest
Every year we sponsor the Van Wezel Summer Fest, featuring four outdoor concert series.
